Technical Training Coordinator - Solon, OH

The Technical Training Coordinator conducts Aclara training courses through electronic and classroom delivery at Aclara, at customer sites, and through online venues. The Technical Training Coordinator works with Technical Publications, Technical Support, and other Aclara departments to develop new training material for review by others and update existing material, and participates in the continuous improvement process with the rest of the training team to provide outstanding training experiences for Aclara customers and employees. The Technical Training Coordinator must keep up to date with all new Aclara products and deliver all courses using existing training materials.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct Aclara training classes whether in a classroom setting at a client site, in the dedicated classroom in our Solon, OH, facility, or online via webinars
• Create or assist with the creation of training objectives and agendas
• Develop online courses and review online courses developed by teammates
• Develop and deliver training classes for employee knowledge and development
• Achieve expert trainer status on all products in assigned subject area; must be able to answer common questions from training participants completely and accurately
• Meet the standards set for quality, productivity, and conduct
• Help organize and maintain the training rooms and equipment needed; ensure attendees have everything needed for classroom training, including food and beverages, a clean room, working equipment, supplemental material like manuals, etc.
• Provide all pre-and-post training activities with students, including but not limited to working with students to prepare for the training and following up with students to ensure all training needs were met, documentation was delivered, and questions were answered
• Create job aids and knowledge articles for customer reference
• Document provided training for record keeping

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing new training material and revising existing training material as new hardware, software, and firmware products evolve or are introduced; or as new projects arise

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree or five years of experience ina utility-related field, technical training or adult learning in lieu of degree
• Three years of experience effectively gathering information from technical personnel and translating it into easy-to-understand information suitable for end-user adult learning
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including excellent presentation skills, and interpersonal (customer relations) skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS PowerPoint, basic computer application skills such as file storage and file sharing, and eLearning creation, preferably Articulate Storyline or Rise
• The ability to learn new hardware and software quickly
• Manage multiple projects, track and document projects, work independently as well as on a team, and demonstrate attention to detail
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and diligence in follow-up
• Ability to travel up to 60% throughout the year, as needed

PREFERRED:

• Bachelor's degree in adult education, instructional design, or utility-related field or five years of experience ina utility-related field, technical training or adult education in lieu of degree
• Experience in the utility industry
• Experience in adult learning methodologies, instructional design theories and best practices, simulation development, certification programs, e-learning development, levels of evaluation, training media skills, etc.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Frequent sitting or standing
• Ability to conduct training in the field on rough terrain and/or inclement weather.
