Position Overview:

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Support Creative, Product, and Marketing teams in producing user experiences across digital products and campaigns for kids 2-8.
• Execute design specs, build out scalable templates, and assemble clickable prototypes across web, OTT and mobile apps based on established direction.
• Illustrate assets for existing products in the PBS KIDS brand style.
• Produce promotional graphics for print, app stores, social media, etc.
• Apply and help maintain the design systems and style guides leveraged across teams.
• Participate in brainstorms and design reviews with the PBS KIDS Creative Team.

Requirements for success:

• 0-2 years of industry experience; internship or freelance work considered
• Bachelor's Degree in design, art or related fields is preferred
• Coursework or project experience designing digital user interfaces preferred
• Interest in creating fun, engaging vector illustration strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
• Foundational understanding of web, streaming video, and app user interface design
• Ability to follow existing brand and visual style guidelines closely
• Ability to illustrate simple and appealing visual concepts and iconography
• Openness to receiving and incorporating critical feedback
• Curiosity and willingness to learn from senior team members
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to prioritize and track multiple assignments under deadline
• Awareness of web accessibility standards for design
• Exposure to simple UI motion and animation is a plus

PORTFOLIO REQUIRED

Submission of a portfolio and example projects is required for consideration. Student and personal projects are welcome.

The base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $65,000/year and $70,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days / 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
