Drupal Technical Lead (Senior Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services) We are seeking a Drupal Technical Lead as part of our Senior Consultant,Engineering & Technical Services career path to lead the technical architecture andimplementation of a large-scale government website modernization. This project will delivera new Drupal 11 platform that transforms how a government agency serves constituents, manages content, and publishes information across a multilingual, accessible,mobile-responsive digital experience. The work includes designing reusable content models,integrating with AWS-hosted infrastructure, migrating legacy content and data, andestablishing modern publishing workflows that support long-term maintainability and futurecapabilities. This role serves as the technical authority defining Drupal architecture, technicalstandards, and solution approaches that balance business requirements with sustainable engineering practices. This is a fully remote role. At Fearless, this Senior Consultant collaborates with cross functional teams to align the technical vision, implementation, and quality of software systems across development, reliability, testing, and operations.This role will possess the skills to be able to bridge business objectives with technical execution in software development, infrastructure, security, and testing at an advanced application level of proficiency. The Sr. Consultant role will work on projects that allow them to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable solutions whilementoring engineers, fostering collaboration, and aligning stakeholders with product and project goals. Fearless Your Responsibilities in this Role: *Lead the technical architecture and implementation of the modernized Drupal 11platform, defining content models, modules, workflows, integrations, andconfiguration approaches. *Translate approved business and technical requirements into Drupal solutionarchitecture and technical designs that support accessibility, multilingual content,and structured publishing. *Define technical decisions for AWS hosting, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, security,monitoring, and deployment strategies for enterprise-scale Drupal environments. *Establish development standards and architectural patterns, providing technicaldirection to the Drupal development team and ensuring maintainable solutions thatminimize unnecessary custom development. *Design Drupal content models, taxonomy, metadata structures, roles and permissions,and publishing workflows that support complex content governance and lifecyclemanagement. *Design and implement REST APIs and third-party integrations that connect theDrupal platform to existing systems and support future capabilities through API-firstapproaches. *Coordinate technical reviews, code reviews, and architecture approvals withgovernment IT teams and enterprise stakeholders, ensuring alignment with securityand operational requirements. *Produce technical architecture documentation and operational guides, supportingknowledge transfer to agency IT teams and content owners The Impact You Will Create in this Role: Fearless Impact:

Work Experience Project Skill and Experience Requirements *Minimum of 7 years of total relevant professional experience. *At least 3 years of experience leading enterprise-wide website modernization or digitaltransformation initiatives, with that experience occurring within the past 5 years. *Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or relatedfield, or equivalent work experience. *Experience supporting at least one government, higher education, or similarlyregulated organization project. *Experience implementing at least one Drupal solution hosted on AWS. *Demonstrated experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation ofenterprise Drupal solutions. *Hands-on experience with Drupal 11 architecture and configuration, including PHPdevelopment and PostgreSQL databases. *Proficiency in designing Drupal content models, taxonomy, metadata structures, rolesand permissions, and publishing workflows for complex content environments. *Proven ability to translate business and technical requirements into solutionarchitecture, technical designs, and implementation approaches. *Deep knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations within Drupal platforms. *Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for enterprise Drupal or webapplications. *Background in architecting and supporting containerized Drupal deployments withincloud environments. *Demonstrated ability to establish technical standards, architectural patterns, anddevelopment practices for engineering teams. *Proven track record evaluating Drupal configuration, contributed modules,integrations, and custom development needs to create maintainable, reusablesolutions. *Experience providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams andcollaborating across engineering, DevOps, migration, UX, accessibility, content, and QAdisciplines. *Experience leading technical and architecture reviews with customers, enterprise ITteams, or other technical stakeholders. *Background developing technical architecture and operational documentation andsupporting technical knowledge transfer. Preferred Experience *Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools to provision andmanage AWS infrastructure. *Background deploying containerized applications using AWS ECS/Fargate. *Knowledge of AWS EFS and Aurora PostgreSQL within enterprise applicationenvironments. *Familiarity with Apache and Nginx within Drupal or comparable web applicationenvironments. *Knowledge of Drush and GitHub within enterprise Drupal development anddeployment workflows. *Background designing search and SEO architecture for large-scale public-facingwebsites. *Experience designing structured content and API-first architectures that supportcontent reuse and future integrations. *Familiarity with content and platform architectures that support semantic search, AIreadiness, or other emerging capabilities. *Acquia Drupal certification preferred. *AWS certification preferred.
