As a Security Guard Juvenile Center Control Access in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a caring, people-first culture by working collaboratively, acting with integrity, and bringing an agile, reliable, and innovative approach to daily responsibilities.

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, offices, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials and/or authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
• Support a respectful and professional environment for individuals and families receiving public services while reporting security-related concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
