Senior Director, Head of Portfolio Construction

BNY Wealth is at important point in the evolution of its investment platform. We are looking for a seasoned investment leader with a builder's mindset to help shape the next stage of our portfolio construction capabilities.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Head of Portfolio Construction will serve as the "implementation engine" of the CIO's office, translating the firm's investment views into practical, scalable portfolio solutions and acting as an important bridge between the CIO organization and our advisors. The right person combines deep investment expertise, sound judgment and a strong advisor orientation with the initiative and energy to turn ideas into action. They are comfortable navigating a large, regulated organization and remain curious and proactive, focused on creating solutions that help advisors better serve clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio construction and model portfolio architecture across the Wealth platform
• Translate CIO investment views into practical, scalable solutions for advisors and clients
• Develop solutions across model portfolios, UMAs, multi-manager portfolios, alternatives, tax-aware strategies and customized HNW/UHNW needs
• Partner closely with advisors to solve complex portfolio challenges, improve adoption of CIO solutions and bring field insights into solution design
• Help evolve the investment platform toward a more scalable, advisor-centric model while maintaining strong fiduciary and risk disciplines
• Build and lead a high-performing portfolio construction and solutions team

Ideal candidate

• 15+ years of investment, portfolio construction or wealth management experience
• Deep portfolio construction, asset allocation and multi-asset investment expertise
• Strong advisor orientation with experience translating complex investment concepts into practical client solutions
• HNW/UHNW and fiduciary investment experience, ideally across OCC, SEC and FINRA-regulated environments
• Seasoned, action-oriented leader with the ability to build capabilities and move ideas from strategy through execution
• CFA and/or relevant FINRA registrations, including Series 7 and Series 63, preferred
