Overview
The Weekend Breakfast Buffet Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the breakfast buffet while ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience. This position requires attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Set up the breakfast buffet before service, ensuring all food, beverages, utensils, plates, and supplies are properly arranged.
- Monitor and replenish buffet items throughout breakfast service to maintain availability and presentation.
- Ensure all food items are properly labeled and maintained at safe serving temperatures.
- Keep buffet stations, counters, and surrounding dining areas clean and organized.
- Greet guests warmly and assist with questions regarding breakfast offerings.
- Communicate with the culinary team regarding food replenishment, special requests, and dietary restrictions.
- Monitor coffee, juice, and other beverage stations, ensuring they remain stocked and clean.
- Clear used plates and assist with maintaining a clean dining environment as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Assist with the breakdown of the buffet, proper storage of supplies, and cleaning of equipment after service.
- Notify management of guest concerns, equipment issues, or food quality concerns.
- Assist the Food & Beverage team with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or restaurant operations preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy breakfast periods.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and available to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in areas with hot food, beverages, and kitchen equipment.
