DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed) Feed raw material or parts to manual machines Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools Test operation of machines periodically Fix issues that might occur during the shift Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws Keep records to approved and defective units or final products Maintain activity logs Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience is beneficial. Experience Requirements Proven experience as a machine operator Understanding of production procedures Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear) Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals Analytical skills Attention to detail Teamwork and communication skills Physical stamina and strength Ability to safely use common cleaning equipment, tools, and cleaning products. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and workplace safety. Ability to work independently while following cleaning schedules and established procedures. Good organizational and time management skills. Dependable work habits and a commitment to maintaining clean, professional facilities. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience cleaning commercial, industrial, office, healthcare, educational, or manufacturing facilities is preferred. Experience operating floor care equipment, buffers, scrubbers, or other custodial equipment is beneficial. Knowledge of proper cleaning chemical usage, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety practices is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and pride in their work are well positioned for success as a Janitorial Machine Operator. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely push, pull, and maneuver cleaning carts and equipment. Ability to work in a variety of indoor environments while following established safety procedures.
