Electrical Systems Test Engineer

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

* Proven experience testing power electronics and high/low voltage electrical systems

* Skilled in test planning and experimental design, with a focus on safety and repeatability

* Background in electromechanical systems that integrate hardware, electrical systems, communication protocols, and software

* Strong hands-on skills with wiring, soldering, and harness creation

* Proficient with electrical test tools including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power loads, basic bench power supplies, schematics reading

* Experience using data acquisition tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe, automated data acquisition (DAQ), lab instrumentation automation (Python/SCPI).

Good to have: dSPACE HIL bench development, MATLAB/Simulink, high/low voltage battery management systems (BMS), failure root-cause analysis (FMEA).

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Test Engineer to support the verification and validation (V&V) of electrical systems in autonomous vehicle platforms. This role will involve executing tests across multiple environments, developing test plans for high and low voltage components, and providing technical assistance to fellow engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power electronics, electromechanical systems, and hands-on electrical lab work.

The Electrical Systems test engineer requires hands-on electrical verification of power generation, low-voltage battery systems, power distribution units, wiring harnesses, across full vehicles, HIL benches, and lab test fixtures.

Sets up physical lab benches, connects harness break-out boxes, and executes pre-defined electrical test cases under guidance.

Independently creates and runs electrical stress tests for low-voltage battery modules, power rails, and electromechanical actuators. Troubleshoots harness issues and component anomalies.

Collaborate on and assemble electrical test platforms that use power equipment including, but not limited to, power supplies, electronic

loads, oscilloscopes and low voltage batteries.

Electrical V&V: Author of comprehensive electrical test plans. Diagnoses complex electrical noise, ground loops, power brownout conditions, and transient voltage spikes across high- and low-voltage vehicle interfaces.

Pluses:

* Familiarity with test automation and scripting (e.g., Python, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink)

* Experience working in environments with hardware/software integration challenges

Salary Range: $80,000-$120,000 a year
