General Notes

Temporary Position (12 months) To provide advanced skills in the clerical operations of an office, which will include data entry functions. Responsible for a portion of a department's clerical operations, which will include the coding, inputting, and retrieval of data from a computer.

Purpose

To provide advanced skill in the data entry functions required to support the UT Works Lock and Key Services Key Module Project.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, code, input and retrieve information using data entry functions. Enter data from keying worksheets into Excel spreadsheets in preparation for transferring lock information into UTWorks Key module Program.
  • Evaluate and verify notes and reports for correctness and accuracy before entering information into Excel spreadsheets. Ensures correctness and completeness of data that has been or is to be entered.
  • Maintain confidential records and files. Must understand that security and confidentially of the information being deal with is mandatory.
  • Confer with other department personnel as needed on data entry matters. Meet as a group and individually with other team members and supervisors.
  • Compose routine correspondence.
  • Represent Lock & Key Services on special projects.
  • Perform related duties as required
  • May train new/less experienced employees.
  • Other related duties will be assigned, including working and other departments within the Campus Operations portfolio, and occasional overtime required, all to support organizational goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience in an office environment. Two years of above average experience with data entry with a high degree of accuracy. Two years intermediate experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Excellent telephone and email etiquette. Current Class "C" Texas Operator Driver License required.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in business administration or similar. More than three years of broad-based experience in a office environment. Two or more years of above average experience with data entry with a high degree of accuracy. More than two years of experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with direct customer service. Excellent telephone etiquette.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
