Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $48,600 - Midpoint: $60,800 (Salaried E7)

Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

Additional Department Summary: The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alabama seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to multiple projects examining tidal marsh resilience to environmental changes and the role of nature-based solutions in the recovery of ecosystem functions. The successful applicant will contribute to ongoing and emerging projects investigating strategies to recover ecosystem functions, promote resilience to climate change, and mitigate nutrient enrichment. There will be opportunities to co-develop new projects.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology, Marine Sciences, or related field.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in field-based techniques to assess primary production, organic matter decomposition, carbon fluxes, and/or ecosystem responses to disturbances.
