The Safety Coordinator/Officer directs, leads, and oversees the EHS systems and programs for the manufacturing facility. Pay Rate: $28.85 Responsibilities
- Directs, develops, and oversees the company's environmental, health and safety policies and procedures of the organization Ensures the workplace is in compliance with all governing regulatory bodies
- Provides, creates, and maintains programs that ensure a safe workplace including, but not limited to: Safety orientation, skill training, emergency preparedness, job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures and the use of protective equipment
- Ensures and manages program compliance through the program champions, audits, and training
- Uses a systematic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting
- Implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards
- Provides leadership for the Safety Leadership Team
- Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings for the plant operational teams
- Champions all safety objectives including, but not limited to: Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), near miss reporting, safety suggestion programs, injury reporting, and environmental reporting
- Design, manage, and conduct Safety Gemba Walks
- Drive and manage documented safety "blitzes" and MOC review across plant
- Manages safety related CapEx and expense projects from obtaining quotes to project execution with guidance from safety sponsors
- Provides, creates, and maintains documentation and trainings related to safety programs and standards
- Performs various work duties at the direction of his/ her Manager/ Supervisor. Must be a leader who is an active driver & participant for positive change and helps us attain/ sustain improved performance (WCM/ Lean Mfg).
Education
- Associate's degree required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- OSHA10, preferred

- Experience within a diverse manufacturing environment with mature safety systems
- Skilled in developing and implementing training for a manufacturing workforce
- Self-starter who can demonstrate ability to lead and implement changewith a "go-getter" attitude
- Possess a high standard of communication skills across all levels of the business
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to travel (Up to 10%). Local travel for safety trainings and to sister SEE facilities to assist with safety related trainings and EHS audits
Other Requirements
- Minimum 0-2 years in a manufacturing environment
- Skilled demonstration of computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Minimum 1-2 years of proven leadership experience
- Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work both independently and within a team, generating results with minimal guidance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude
- Able to work a flexible work schedule based upon project demands and business needs
- Bilingual preferred - English/Spanish
