Summary The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as HVAC, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical ballast, lamps, receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. High School Diploma/GED (required)
Experience
3 years: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
Three or more years of experience in the general maintenance trade supplemented by one year experience as a General Maintenance Worker. Comprehensive knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools of the general maintenance trade. Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes and specifications. Comprehensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the general maintenance trade. (required) Licenses & Certifications
