Could you be the full-time onsite Mechanical Technical Writer in Baltimore, MD, US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive mechanical and technical writing expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates. You'll craft essential documentation that will underpin the safety and efficiency of our engineering operations. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Safety, Maintenance), prepare and revise critical technical documents, and much more.

We'll look to you for:




  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain mechanical and industrial documents,



  • Ensure all documents include critical safety information, tasks, parts/components, etcetera.,



  • Gather and analyze information from various sources (OEM, SME etc.) to document new or changing repair, testing, safety, or internal business processes.,



  • Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and mechanical information for multiple audiences, including non-mechanical users.,



  • Validate processes and procedures through on-site reviews at maintenance locations, industrial sites, and aboard railroad equipment.,



  • Create training materials and presentations when needed.,



  • Maintain a library of documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use.,



  • Publish and maintain templates for written documentation.,



  • Ensure all documents are distributed as they are created and/or revised to appropriate departments/personnel.,



  • Experience in presenting technical information in a live setting, such as classroom training, presentations, or video conference."

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field.,



  • Experience or understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems.,

  • Familiarity with enterprise asset management systems such as SAP or Maximo.,



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in American English.,



  • Ability to create clear and informative documentation for diverse audiences.,



  • Skills in creating visual aids like diagrams, workflows, and infographics.,



  • Aptitude for analyzing and synthesizing complex information from various sources.,



  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage documentation effectively.,



  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and build professional relationships.
