Job Summary:

Works as an active participant in the workflow and practice environment that touches all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, consultations and referral. This can be in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. This care includes pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period, immediate care of the newborn following birth, family planning and gynecologic needs. Ensures coordination of care for the patient in collaboration with other Perinatal, Neonatal and Birth Center team members.

Principle Responsibilities

  • CNM group independently provides labor support, water birth and VBAC/TOLAC services

  • Midwifery collaborative support is provided by a supportive inhouse OB and maternal fetal medicine groups

  • We attend approximately 40-50 births per month with three affiliated clinics.

  • "Natural birth experience" highlighting nontraditional care in the hospital.

  • Follows standards for Nurse Midwifery Practice established by the American College of Nurse-Midwives and Minnesota statute.

  • Midwife self-schedule

  • Collaborative, supportive and encouraging teammates

  • Opportunities for professional and personal growth- research, mentoring CNM and NP students, instrumental QI projects

  • Support whole person population health care initiatives

  • Professional Liability insurance including tail

  • Casual position with system wide clinic and call coverage

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Graduate from Accredited School of Nursing required and

  • Formal education as Nurse practitioner required

  • Master's degree in nursing

  • Minimum of 1 year of Certified Nurse Midwife preferred

  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire

  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - required upon hire

  • AMCB American Midwifery Certification Board upon hire required

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $125,000 to $140,000 per year The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
