This position will require travel throughout Lake County.

Job Summary:

Provides support to individuals in recovery for substance use disorder treatment, and coaching on sober living and coping skills. Verifies, updates, and maintains appropriate records to ensure data is current and reports of professional services is readily available. Facilitates transparency in data, organizes appropriate trainings, and communicates relevant information to team members.

The Recovery Support Coordinator is responsible for:



  • Facilitates motivational conversations and group sessions with clients to help them achieve treatment goals and understand actions needed for successful recovery.
  • Assists clients transitioning from outpatient services to the community by serving as an example of living in recovery and identifying resources, services, and support groups to be used in facilitating the transition.
  • Serves as a member of the treatment team by monitoring client behavior and reporting client observations, incidents or unusual occurrences; contributes to decisions regarding treatment plans, conflict intervention or privileges.
  • Completes appropriate assessment which may include Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) assessments with clients who meet the criteria outlined in grant. Collects and compiles all relevant assessments from the team of Recovery Coaches. Develops various community partnerships and relationships and assists with outreach, events, and mentoring and makes appropriate referrals and recommendations.
  • Provides clients with information about Gateway's alumni program, events, and local support groups and other recovery activities.
  • Organize and/or attend community events, educational workshops, and support groups to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding substance use disorders and mental health issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Requirements:



  • Eligible for CRSS designation (achievement already preferred but must achieve within 90 days of placement in this role).
  • Basic knowledge of physical, cognitive and psychosocial functioning level of the client population
  • Basic knowledge of substance use disorder treatment services and / or familiarity with treatment programs
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple assignments, and complete work within specified timeframes
  • Communication skills to gather and exchange information verbally and in-writing
  • Interpersonal skills to assign work to others, explain and resolve complex billing and payment issues, and to provide follow-up
  • Analytical abilities to review and audit bills and accounts, establish billing specifications, and identify errors, and implement corrective solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, and knowledge of billing systems



Physical Requirements:




  • Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
