The position will help grow our contaminated site assessment and remediation practices while contributing to challenging environmental projects including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Developing site investigation, remediation, and monitoring strategies and plans for contaminated sites.
  • Managing tasks and projects, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff and managing subcontractors.
  • Developing work plans, evaluating environmental data, and preparing reports.
  • Reviewing and managing written document production.
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
  • Conducting and overseeing fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
  • Directing multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
  • Help broaden our reputation via publishing and attending prominent industry conferences.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration. (i.e., P.G., P.E.)(preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Proven leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations. (preferred)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $91,505/year / Maximum Salary: $134,465/year (Columbia, MD)
