Intelligent Systems Center

The incumbent will support research projects on advanced structural materials and advanced manufacturing and significantly contribute to the success of these research programs. The incumbent will also assist with training graduate students and help with writing research proposals.

Specific responsibilities include: perform research on oxide dispersion strengthened steels; conduct different experiments including advanced manufacturing, mechanical testing, and microstructural characterization utilizing different techniques such as transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography; analyze experimental results; prepare presentations and write research articles and reports; interact with other researchers in the team; assist with training graduate students; help with writing research proposals; serve as a judge for graduate student presentations and posters.

Minimum Qualifications:
Hold a PhD degree or to obtain soon a PhD degree in materials science and engineering or a closely related discipline such as mechanical engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:
Significant experience in advanced manufacturing, transmission electron microscopy and mechanical behavior of materials; strong background in materials science and engineering especially in metallic materials; strong publication record; good proposal writing experience.

$52,000 annually
