Overview

Esri's geocoding solutions deliver global search and geocoding capabilities to organizations across the world. Search and geocoding are used in a wide range of applications across the ArcGIS platform such as where to open your retail store, how to best allocate resources for delivering packages, or where is, and how do I get to, my favorite coffee shop?

As a Product Engineer on the geocoding team you will build cutting edge search and geocoding software for the ArcGIS platform. You'll analyze search patterns for addresses and places all over the world, research and analyze customer requests, define requirements for new software features, and ensure geocoding quality and performance by building and maintaining tests based on real-world scenarios.

Since this position is located in Redlands, CA, we will offer relocation assistance if needed.

Responsibilities



  • Collaborate and work closely with development programmers to implement new software features for search and geocoding
  • Analyze search patterns for addresses and places all over the world
  • Research and analyze customer requests and define requirements for new software features
  • Build and maintain test scenarios that validate geocoding workflows and functionality
  • Develop and extend tools and applications using C#, Python, or SQL
  • Socialize our work through presentations, webinars, forums, and blogs


Requirements



  • 2+ years of problem-solving in a GIS software development role
  • Experience performing advanced SQL queries and complex joins with spatial data
  • A keen attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered
  • Ability to manage priorities and tasks as needed in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team
  • Bachelor's in computer science, applied mathematics, GIS, geography, or a related field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Experience with web search, geosearch, or geocoding applications and web APIs
  • Familiarity with writing detailed design and requirements documents
  • Experience with Python or C#
  • Familiarity with automated testing and application holistic testing
  • Understanding of the agile software development life cycle
  • Master's in computer science, applied mathematics, GIS, geography, or a related field
