JOB MISSION:

The Agile Coach is responsible for coaching & mentoring a team of agilist and leadership within the organization. The incumbent drives agile adoption through coaching, metrics, and mentoring. Works with teams and individuals to assist in enhancing agile role development. Builds on existing agile practices and frameworks to enable growth in agile maturity across the teams.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coaches and mentors Agile Project Managers, Product Owners, and team members on roles and responsibilities
  • Supports workshops and training materials targeted to enhancing agile maturity across NB
  • Conducts training sessions when needed
  • Supports the Agile Program Manager on strategic vision and implementation of agile transformations
  • Attends and observes agile ceremonies and provides feedback and recommendations regarding enhancements to practices
  • Regularly promotes relentless improvement opportunities through observation and insights
  • Assists teams and individuals in developing metrics at the team and product levels and helps to drive learning from the metrics
  • Coaches teams on varying retrospective approaches to enable broader input and positive changes
  • Agile evangelist across organizational boundaries
  • Coaches' teams through team and product level ceremonies
  • Assists in Agile tool identification, management, and implementation
  • Participates in industry Agile communities to continuously bring new and engaging ideas to the organization

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 5-8+ years in a Scrum Master, Agile Coach or Product Management role, with Bachelor's Degree in Business or Technical Field.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, technical acumen, agile trained professional, agile organizational level coaching experience within an agile framework/methodology.
  • Strong experience with resource/people management.
  • Thorough knowledge and use of an agile tools, i.e., Jira, Azure DevOps.
  • Background in agile delivery, project management, engineering, or product management
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure DevOps or any other agile platform (rally, version 1 or any other enterprise platform) preferred
  • Ability to work across functional groups
  • Ability to identify gaps and areas of improvement, provide recommendations
  • Technical education and agile trained certified professional preferred
  • Scrumcertified (or other scaled agile frameworks)preferred
  • Active involvement in the agile community

Flexible Work Schedule

For decades we have fostered a unique culture founded on our values with a particular focus on in-person teamwork and collaboration. Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
